TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Quarterback Chris Rix completed 12 passes for 125 yards and sophomore wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe caught six passes for 107 yards to lead the Garnet to a 23-0 victory over the Gold in Florida State's annual spring football game at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Rix led the Garnet team to a productive afternoon as he spread his passes out over a number of receivers. In addition to Thorpe's 100-yard receiving day, senior wide receiver Travis Smith caught four passes for 105 yards and sophomore wide receiver P.K. Sam caught six passes for 70 yards.
Rix completed three of his first four passes as he drove the Garnet squad down the field for a touchdown on the first possession of the game. The drive was culminated by Tony's six-yard burst up the middle into the endzone. Tony had eight yards on two carries for the day.
