Palma Sola Golf Club

Location: 3807 75th Street West, Bradenton, Florida.
(941) 792-7476.

Designer: Unknown (some accounts claim Donald Ross assisted in design)

Yardage: Blue tees – 6264, White tees – 5920, Red tees – 5311

Slope: Blue – 115, White – 112, Red – 126

Fees: Reasonable. Vary greatly by season.

Highlights: Only minutes from Gulf Beaches of Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key. Generous landing areas for most tee shots.

Drawbacks: Many side by side fairways due to limited space in suburban residential area. Greens tend to be a little on the slow side, however, they’re well maintained and very consistent.

Best Holes: The number one handicap hole is the Par 4 13th, a dogleg right that plays 427 yards from the blue tees. The green is guarded by a meandering creek that comes into play on four holes and swallows up all short approaches.
Another outstanding hole is the Par 5 finisher at the 18th. Although it only plays 511 yards from the blue and 490 yards from the whites, the aforementioned creek and a large tree line are strategically placed to require three shots to the green on this double dog leg.
This course also has several rather short par four’s making it’s playability very high for the average golfer.
